MONROE COUNTY — Monroe County Sheriff Troy Goodnough reported in a release that a felonious assault occurred on Tuesday, Aug. 27, in the 7100 block of Crabb Road in Bedford Township.

At approximately 6:30 p.m. that evening, Monroe County Central Dispatch received a 911 call from a business in the 7100 block reporting an altercation between two males, one of whom was stabbed. Monroe County Sheriff Deputies responded to the call and found a 39-year-old employee with a deep laceration in his forearm. According to witnesses at the scene, the subject, also 39-years-old, had fled prior to their arrival.

Monroe County Ambulance and the Bedford Township Fire Department arrived at the scene and provided medical care to the victim; he was then transported to Promedica Toledo Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Sheriff Detectives took over the investigation, learning that the survivor and suspect were coworkers. A verbal argument broke out between the two for unknown reasons, then escalated into a physical altercation during which the suspect pulled a knife and assaulted the other individual.
