The ballot for Monroe County Region Athlete of the Week Award for Sept. 2-8 is packed with great candidates.
Voters must decided between 20 nominees from 14 Region schools.

Here are the candidates in alphabetical order.
Gavin Albring, Ida football : Racked up 12 tackles, intercepted two passes and scored a touchdown in a win over Whiteford.
Ian Ankenbauer, New Boston Huron soccer : Posted a pair of shutouts, giving him four for the season.
Luke Beaudrie, Jefferson football : Ran for 158 yards and two touchdowns and completed 9-of-16 passes for 150 yards against Milan.
Courtney Bovair, Airport cross country : Combined with Ella Baker to win the girls race at the Mason Frank Connolly Relays then was the top girls finisher at the Averill Invitational Saturday in 19:11.7.
Joey Brink, Dundee football : Ran for 163 yards and 5 touchdowns on just 14 carries in a win over Erie Mason.
Ian Foster, SMCC football : Both of his completions went for touchdowns in a triumph over New Boston Huron.
Isaac Henman, Bedford football : Ran for 117 yards, including a 59-yard touchdown, in a win over Ann Arbor Skyline.
Graham Junge, Flat Rock football : Completed 12-of-18 passes for 261 yards and three touchdowns in a win over Grosse Ile.
Mia Karl, Ida volleyball : Led Blue Streaks to championship of Perry Tournament with .429 hitting percentage, 27 kills and 15 blocks.
Joe Krolak, Gibraltar Carlson football : Ran for four touchdowns and threw a TD pass in a victory over Dearborn Edsel Ford.
Gunnar Kruise, Milan tennis : Set the school record for career victories with his 58th win.
Brian Palmer, Monroe soccer : Netted the winning goal as the Trojans beat Ann Arbor Pioneer for the first time in school history.
Nolan Matley, Milan soccer : Recorded three goals and two assists in a victory over SMCC.
Brek Ruddy, Whiteford football : Rushed for 107 yards on 17 carries against Ida.
Trace Secor, Summerfield football : Threw for 177 yards and two touchdowns and ran for another score against Decatur.
Renee Shrewsbury, Airport volleyball : Recorded 18 kills and 18 digs Wednesday, then was nominated for All-Tournament team at Livonia Stevenson Tournament Saturday with 28 kills and 22 digs.
Sophia Smith, Monroe swimming : Won two events and swam on two winning relays Thursday, then was part of two winning relays Saturday as the Trojans won the SMISL Relays.
Elizabeth Sweeney, Erie Mason volleyball : Amassed 18 kills in win over Jefferson and 22 kills, 15 digs and 4 blocks in a win over Summerfield.
Jaxen Wourman, Milan football : Rushed for 172 yards and a pair of touchdowns in a victory over Jefferson.
Ally Younglove, Monroe volleyball : Rang up 27 kills, 10 blocks and 42 digs to lead the Trojans to the title in the Wyandotte Roosevelt Tournament.
