    Three homecoming football games Friday in Monroe County

    MONROE COUNTY — Three Monroe County high schools will play homecoming football games Friday: Jefferson , Flat Rock and Carlson .

    Monroe County’s final homecoming football game of 2024 will be Oct. 11 at Summerfield High School.

    Jefferson High School

    Jefferson High School’s varsity football team will play its homecoming game against Grosse Ile High School at 7 p.m. Friday.

    “Lets Go to the Movies” is this year’s homecoming theme.

    The homecoming parade will begin at 5:45 p.m. Friday at Sodt Elementary School. The route will travel east on Nadeau Road, north on North Dixie Highway, west on North Stony Creek Road and end at the Jefferson Recreation Center.

    “Bear fans may line the parade route to catch a heap of candy and get a glimpse of the Jefferson Bear, our own marching band, the homecoming court, the Frenchtown firefighters and much more,” said Carrie Grube, Student Council advisor.

    The homecoming court includes class attendants: freshman Haylee Trudell, sophomore Juliette Shonk and junior Alexis Heinzerling.

    Homecoming queen candidates are seniors Miracle Bijarro, Hannah Cronenwett, Lindsey Gennoe, Gracie Jones, Lexie Powers, Lauryn St. Bernard and Sophia Todd.

    Carlson High School

    The Carlson High School varsity football team will play its homecoming game against Trenton High School at 7 p.m. Friday.

    This year’s homecoming theme is “Cartoons.”

    The homecoming king will be crowned Friday during a school pep assembly.

    The homecoming parade will begin at 5 p.m. Friday and will feature homecoming court members, advisors, floats, judges, marching band, cheerleaders and clubs. The parade begins at the Gibraltar Community Center.

    The homecoming queen will be crowned at the football game's half-time Friday.

    Carlson's homecoming court includes Ayman Al-Hubaish, Ella Blake, Damarion Copeland, Katie Fromman, Christian Ibrahim, Andria Konczal, Brody Lavis, Sophia Payne, Muhammed Muheisen and Morgan Ross.

    Flat Rock High School

    Flat Rock High School's varsity football team will play its homecoming game against Milan High School at 7 p.m. Friday.

    The parade will begin at 5 p.m. Friday.

    Homecoming queen candidates are Keola Botts, Ellijhana Cerroni, Sophia Durfee, Maya Given and Felicia Morrison.

    Class representatives are: senior Ava Sturgill, junior Ava Gillum, sophomore Aileen McNamara and freshman Fiona Scott.
