    Airport 34, Milan 33, OT

MILAN - Airport stuffed Milan's 2-point conversion attempt in overtime to move to 4-4 on the season and send the Big Reds to 2-6.

"The story of the game was the second-half woes for us, really," said Jets coach Derek Anderson. "It was a wild game."

Airport led 21-7 at halftime, as Isaac Kemp, Casey Monroe, and Dillon Byrd each scored a rushing touchdown. But Milan outscored the visitors 14-0 in the third quarter courtesy of a 1-yard touchdown run by Shawn Ballard and a 30-yard fumble return TD from Logan Vaughn.

The teams traded 1-yard rushing TDs in the fourth quarter, with Jordan Fields scoring for the Jets and CJ Fairbanks (17 rushes for 112 yards) for the Big Reds. Fields and Fairbanks both scored for their respective teams in overtime, where Airport's defense proved the difference when they were able to stuff Milan's 2-point attempt on the 1-yard line.

"Our kids made plays in the second half," said Milan Coach Jesse Hoskins. "We were right there. I'm extremely proud of their preparation during the week and their resilience during the game."

Patrick Murphy led Airport with a team high 99 rushing yards on 11 carries, while Byrd added 83 and the first-half score on 13 touches and also threw for 175 yards on 10-of-16 passing. Airport's Aidyn Stahr had a game-high 88 receiving yards on 3 catches.

Dundee’s Ryan Zanger threw for four touchdown passes.

Ida intercepted four passes with Kaden Gerth nabbing two and Owen Snyder and Albring one each.

“We were able to respond to adversity,” Ida coach Jeff Potter said. “We dug ourselves a little hole and were able to push through that.”

The Blue Streaks ran their record to 7-1 heading into a huge Lenawee County Athletic Association battle at Clinton Friday.

Dundee (2-6) finishes the regular season at Blissfield.

    Summerfield 70, Vanlue 0

VANLUE, Ohio – Summerfield set a school record for points in a game, topping the previous mark of 66 set in 2009 against Summit Academy.

The Bulldogs have scored 132 points in their last two games.

Summerfield coach Dylan Szegedi knew exactly what the record was.

“it came up last week at halftime against Erie (Mason),” he said. “We didn’t quite get there in that game. I am very proud of the boys for doing it tonight.”

Mitchell Gomulinski ran for 222 yards and three touchdowns on just 14 carries, quarterback Trace Secor completed 6-of-7 passes for 185 yards and four TDs and also ran for a score. Tyler Dafoe had three catches for 116 yards with all three ending up in the end zone.

The other Bulldog TD came on a reception by Hayden Noland.

Flat Rock 35, New Boston Huron 14

NEW BOSTON – With one second left in the first half, Flat Rock's Ben Scully took a screen pass from quarterback Graham Junge 54 yards to the house to give the Rams a 21-14 halftime lead.

"That was a huge swing right before halftime," said Flat Rock Coach Buck Reaume. "It was really big for us to be able to capitalize before the half."

Flat Rock's defense kept Huron off the board in the second half.

"Our defense was really good all night," Reaume said. "That was good to see."

Junge completed 10-of-18 passes for 183 yards and 2 touchdowns, and he also ran in a 6-yard score. Scully tallied a game-high 103 rushing yards on 17 carries to go with 59 yards and the TD on 3 catches.

Jacob Hagan rushed for 58 yards and a touchdown on 9 touches, and he also snagged a 7-yard TD pass from Junge in the third quarter.

Bradley Hughes scored Huron's first touchdown of the day on a 9-yard run, while Cash Moczdlowsky connected with Ryan Anderson from 41 yards out for the Chiefs' other score.

Flat Rock is 6-2 heading into its regular-season finale at Livonia Clarenceville.

Huron (3-5) finishes at home against Detroit Henry Ford.

Lutheran Westland 21, Erie Mason 20

WESTLAND - Erie Mason (1-7) led 20-6 after three quarters, but miscues and a shrewd strategy from Lutheran Westland left Mason on the wrong end of a one-point decision.

"We really played well in the first half," said Mason Coach Steve Bowers. "We were running the ball - that's pretty much all that we did - and we were moving it with ease, I would say. We made a few mistakes in the first half that ended a couple other drives, with some penalties, and probably a couple other things really killed us in the second half that also hurt us a little bit in the first half."

Westland attempted an onside kick after each of their first two scores. The onside attempt after their first touchdown in the fourth quarter ricocheted off several Mason Eagles before a Warriors player was able to pounce on it.

"They got it back with like two-and-a-half, or three minutes left, and they ended up scoring with 45 seconds left," Bowers said. "We shot ourselves in the foot a couple of times..."

Logan Goodin scored all three of Mason's touchdowns Friday.
