    Juvenile injured in Montgomery shooting

    Montgomery police are investigating a Thursday afternoon shooting in which a juvenile was injured. Police describe the injuries as not life-threatening.

    At about 2:45 p.m., police and fire medics went to the 2800 block of Atlanta Highway on a report of a shooting involving a juvenile male victim, said Maj. Saba Coleman, spokeswoman for the Montgomery Police Department. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment, Coleman said.

    It was determined that the shooting happened in the 2700 block of Brewton Street, she said. His age was not released.

    The circumstances of the case remain under investigation, and no other information was immediately released. Police ask people with knowledge of the case to call CrimeStoppers at 334-215-STOP, the Secret Witness Line at 334-625-4000, or MPD at 334-625-2831.
