In the 2024 general election, Alabamians will vote for various candidates based on the U.S. Congressional District in which they live. With Election Day now less than a month away, here's what voters need to know before they cast their ballot in November.

    When is Election Day?

Election Day 2024 is Nov. 5. Polling places will be open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m., but you are able to stay in line after polls close if you arrive beforehand.

    What's the deadline to register?

The state of Alabama allows those wishing to vote to register up to 14 days before an election and requires a valid photo ID. Those who wish to vote by mail must have their ballot postmarked no later than the day of the respective election.

Who's on the ballot in Alabama?

In addition to president and vice president, Alabamians will be voting for their respective U.S. House representatives for the seven congressional districts, and for Chief Justice of the state Supreme Court.

    • District 1: Barry Moore, incumbent (R), Tom Holmes (D)
    • District 2: Caroleene Dobson (R), Shomari Figures (D)
    • District 3: Mike Rogers, incumbent (R)
    • District 4: Robert Aderholt, incumbent (R)
    • District 5: Dale Strong, incumbent (R)
    • District 6: Gary Palmer, incumbent (R), Elizabeth Anderson (D)
    • District 7: Robin Litaker (R), Terri Sewell, Incumbent (D)
    • Chief Justice: Sarah Stewart (R), Greg Griffin (D)

    Can I vote early?

Alabama does not allow early voting. However, the state does allow citizens to vote absentee. Those wanting to vote absentee must submit an application to do so either by mail or in person to their county's election manager's office.

According to the Alabama Secretary of State website, mail-in absentee ballot applications must be received by the voter's county absentee election manager by Oct. 29. Absentee ballot application may also be returned in-person by Oct. 31. Upon receiving the absentee ballot, it must be returned either in-person by Nov. 4, or by mail no later than noon Nov. 5.

we don't want or need a dictator to run our country! That's all Thumper wants to do! All he wants to do is to tell you how to live and what you can and cannot do. Plus if you really think that he is going to help the USA, then you might want to rethink that! Everything that comes out of his mouth has been nothing but a lie! We don't need a president that lies to us and lies about others all of the time just to try to make himself look good, when all it does do is make him look stupid!!! Vote Blue!!
