Northern Regional Hospital has been recognized as one of the ‘Great Community Hospitals’ by Becker’s Hospital Review, a medical industry trade magazine. The two worked together or nearly two decades before the younger Hiatt left to open her own barber shop. She sold Donna’s Barber Shop this week after 21 years in operation and 16 Mountie Awards.
Boles built home, gardens from ground up
The last in a series highlighting each of the six private gardens featured on this year’s Mount Airy Blooms Garden Tour scheduled for Saturday, June 8. City schools honor teacher, employee of year
Two Mount Airy City Schools employees were recently honored for their work. During the school system’s end-of-year picnic, Abby Gallimore was named the Mount Airy City Schools Teacher of the Year. Jamie Martin was named Mount Airy City Schools Employee of the Year.
County manager to present budget June 3
The Surry County Board of Commissioners will hear a presentation Monday evening from County Manager Chris Knopf regarding the county budget for the coming fiscal year which begins July 1.
