Three concerts set for Blackmon Amphitheatre this week
Three concerts are slated for the stage at the Blackmon Amphitheatre this week as part of the annual Surry Arts Council Summer Concert Series. The North Tower Band kicks off the weekend’s concerts on Thursday, with a show set to begin at 7:30 p.m. The Castaways Band is slated to be on the stage on Friday in a 7:30 p.m. concert. On Saturday, Chocolate Chip and Company will cap off the weekend with a show also scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. Costs for the concerts are $17, or a concert series summer pass. Those attending the shows are encouraged to take a lounge chair or blanket. Coolers and outside drink are not permitted. Concessions will be on sale. One of the highlights of spring last year in Mount Airy was a first-ever colorful and entertaining parade downtown by the Shriners organization, which will be repeated this coming Saturday.
