(Kyle Kotecki/News Advocate) </figcaption></figure> BEAR LAKE — Those driving down South Shore Drive in Bear Lake recently have likely noticed some changes at the Bear Lake Schools sports fields. As part of the school district's $6.54 million bond proposal passed by voters in the Nov. 7 election, the school is enhancing its athletic grounds. The 20-year, 3.1-mill bond proposal will fund a variety of improvements, upgrades and repairs. (Kyle Kotecki/News Advocate) </figcaption></figure> The school board approved&nbsp;bids June 12 during a regular meeting for work fences for the ball fields, baseball dugouts, a practice football field and the construction of a small sports complex complete with a drive-thru garage to house landscaping supplies, storage, bathrooms, a small concession stand and locker room areas. Bear Lake's football program started in 2017. The team plays its home games on Brethren's feel due to not having its own game field. In addition to the upgrades to the athletic grounds, the bond allows the district to acquire new boilers and heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems, and replace the roof above the high school gymnasium. Other plans include modifying the school's elementary driveway to make it safer for students, adding a pair of classrooms to the middle school/high school wing, upgrading classroom furniture, replacing worn-out floor and windows and renovating the elementary bathrooms. </div></body>
