(File photo) </figcaption></figure><p> The <a href="https://www.michigan.gov/dnr/things-to-do/fishing/weekly" rel="nofollow"> Department of Natural Resources’ weekly fishing report </a> for Sept. 4 shows some of the most current conditions in the region and best methods. </p><h2 class="cci_subhead" title="CCI Subhead"><strong><a class="chapter-anchor" id="frankfort_1725537635469" tabindex="0"></a> Frankfort </strong></h2><p> Frankfort anglers were still reporting good numbers of Chinook salmon out front as many dark Chinooks move into the bay and river. </p><p> “The coho salmon in Platte Bay continued to hold strong as the weather turned a bit cooler. Switching over to plugs for the evening was reported to have worked well for anglers,” the report reads. </p><p> A notice to anglers was also included in this week’s report for the&nbsp;Benzie County area, particularly along the Betsie River after conservation officers were called to numerous recreational trespassing complaints </p><p> “Anglers are reminded to be considerate of private property when accessing rivers and streams while targeting salmon,” the notice states. “The private lands adjacent to Homestead Dam and west of the village of&nbsp;Elberta’s Waterfront Park located on the south side of Betsie Lake at the end of Furnace Street have been two locations officers have been issuing citations for trespass at the landowners' request.” </p><h2 class="cci_subhead" title="CCI Subhead"><a class="chapter-anchor" id="manistee_1725537633038" tabindex="0"></a> Manistee </h2><p> Manistee's warmer water temperatures made fishing hit or miss. </p><p> “Chinook salmon were caught in 100-180 feet of water while fishing 60-100 feet down,” the report says. “J-plugs, flasher-fly combos and spoons all worked well.” </p><p> The report shows that very few Chinook were caught off of the pier or in the harbor while casting, jigging or trolling. </p><h2 class="cci_subhead" title="CCI Subhead"><a class="chapter-anchor" id="peremarquetteriver_1725537631236" tabindex="0"></a> Pere Marquette River </h2><p> Anglers saw salmon coming up the Pere Marquette River, but there were no heavy numbers. </p></div></body>
