    PD: Man facing felony charges after child assaulted in Staunton

    STAUNTON — Authorities in Staunton have charged a man following the assault of a child Thursday, according to a press release.

    Shane M. Campbell, 24, of Staunton, is charged with aggravated malicious wounding and abuse of a child, the Staunton Police Department said.

    He is being held without bond at Middle River Regional Jail in Verona.

    Additional details were not released.

    The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information concerning this case is asked to call the Staunton Police Department at (540) 332-3842.
