MINT SPRING — A suspect turned himself in Sunday after a vehicle was hit with numerous gunshots earlier in the morning during a domestic dispute, the Augusta County Sheriff's Office said.

At approximately 8:30 a.m., the sheriff's office received a call for shots fired in the 200 block of White Hill Road. The victim reported the suspect fired multiple gunshots at their vehicle. No injuries were reported.

Deputies arrived in the area of Mint Spring and established a perimeter around the crime scene, a press release said. Evidence was collected, and the suspect was identified as David L. Blair Jr., 27, of Waynesboro.

Several hours after the shooting, Blair turned himself in at the sheriff's office in Verona. He's charged with attempted malicious wounding, maliciously shooting at an occupied vehicle, and use of a firearm while at attempting to commit an aggravated malicious wounding.

Blair is being held without bond at Middle River Regional Jail in Verona.

“This was an isolated domestic incident. Thankfully, the victim and no one from the public was harmed during this dangerous situation,” Sheriff Donald L. Smith said.
