Hayes museums holding annual photo contest

It is time to submit favorite snapshots of Spiegel Grove to the Hayes Presidential Library and Museums’ photo contest for a chance to win a membership, gift cards to the Museum Store, site passes and more.

The top 10 photos will be featured in a display in the Hayes Museum, and the top three photos will be featured in Hayes Presidential’s annual report issue of The Statesman newsletter in early 2025.

This contest seeks photos of Spiegel Grove, the grounds of Hayes Presidential and an accredited arboretum.

Contest deadline is Sept. 30

Contest rules:

● This contest highlights Spiegel Grove. Photos can be of any aspect of the grounds, including nature, people or animals on the grounds, events or anything at Spiegel Grove.

● All photos should have been taken between Jan. 1, 2023 and Sept. 30, 2024.

● Entrants can submit up to three photos.

● Email high-resolution photos (300 dpi with at least 8-inch by 10-inch dimensions) to ksmith@rbhayes.org with photographer’s name, email, phone number and mailing address by 11:59 p.m. Sept. 30.

● Entrants who have social media are also asked to post their entry to their own social media pages and tag Hayes Presidential. Hayes Presidential is on Facebook, Instagram and X @rbhayespres. Entrants who do not have social media can still enter and skip this step.

Winners to be notified by Nov. 15

A professional photographer will judge the entries. Hayes Presidential will notify winners by Nov. 15.

The prizes:

● First place: One-year Colonel membership that includes North American Reciprocal Museum and Reciprocated Organization of Associated Museums benefits, $50 gift card to the store plus swag bag.

● Second place: Four site passes, $30 gift card to store plus swag bag.

● Third place: Two site passes, $15 gift card to store plus swag bag.

● Top three will be printed in the annual report edition of The Statesman newsletter.

● The top 10 photos will be displayed in the Hayes Museum rotunda, as well as featured on Hayes Presidential’s social media.
