The Fremont Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal two-vehicle crash that occurred at the intersection of East State Street and Smith Road in Ballville Township at 6:37 p.m. Saturday.

The Fremont Post of the highway patrol on Tuesday morning reported a reconstruction of the accident scene was being done as part of the investigation.

On Saturday, a Fremont man, Timothy L. Spradlin, 20, was transported to St. Vincent's Medical Center from the collision scene and was later pronounced deceased.

According to police, Spradlin was driving a black 2002 Suzuki GSX motorcycle eastbound on East State Street approaching the intersection at Smith Road with a red light.

A vehicle was westbound on State Street approaching the Smith Road intersection with a green turn arrow. Police said Spradlin failed to stop at the red light and was struck by the westbound vehicle as he was turning left to go south on Smith Road.

Spradlin was wearing a full-face helmet at the time of the collision. The driver of the vehicle was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, and police said he was not injured.

The Fremont Post of the OSP was assisted at the scene by the Sandusky County Sheriff's Office, Ballville Township Fire Department, Sandusky County EMS, Triple J. Towing and Rush's Towing.

You don’t drive a motorcycle, you ride it. It’s also a GSX-R… not “GSX”. Tell everyone you don’t know Jack 💩 about motorcycles without actually telling them…. #NAILEDIT
