A Triangle pizza chain is expected to open in two Raleigh shopping centers.

Ruckus Pizza, Pasta and Spirits is expanding to Leesville Towne Centre . Specifically, the restaurant will move into the old Leesville Tap Room space at the shopping center near Leesville and Strickland Roads, according to Kimco Realty’s website .

The restaurant, which has locations in Cary, Morrisville, Apex and Raleigh, also plans to open at Quail Corners , Ruckus’ website shows. The shopping center is located in Raleigh, near the intersection of Millbrook and Falls of Neuse roads.

When is Ruckus expected to open its new locations?

No opening dates have been announced yet.

Construction on the building where Ruckus is expected to be housed at Quail Corners is still ongoing, a representative for the shopping center told The News & Observer, so interior finish-out hasn’t begun.

The N&O did not immediately hear back from a Kimco Realty leasing representative or property manager for Leesville Towne Centre.

Ruckus’ website shows that both forthcoming Raleigh locations are “under construction” and “coming soon.”

The N&O reached out to Ruckus on Friday afternoon for comment.

What happened to Leesville Tap Room?

After a decade under the ownership of husband-wife duo Mike and Marilyn Allard , Leesville Tap Room closed in January 2024 . The bar closed due to an illness in the owners’ family, The N&O previously reported .

“We ran it with our two sons, who were the manager and assistant manager,” Marilyn Allard said earlier this year. “We enjoyed the restaurant and meeting our customers. .... We did everything we possibly could to stay open. ... It’s a painful, sad story, but it’s one that happens to family-owned businesses all over.”

The Allards, who met at N.C. State , bought the business, which was founded in 2009, in 2014. Under their ownership, the Tap Room became more of a sports bar. Sports events such as the ACC Tournament and March Madness were some of its busiest times each year.

“We enjoyed owning the restaurant and hated to see it close, but unfortunately it did,” Allard told The N&O at the time.
