    Lucky lottery player wins six-figure prize in North Carolina. Where was ticket sold?

    One lucky lottery player hit a $110,000 jackpot on a ticket sold in North Carolina, lottery officials said.

    The winning Cash 5 ticket came from a Family Fare convenience store on Hillsborough Road in Durham, the N.C. Education Lottery said in an Oct. 9 post on X, formerly known as Twitter.

    The player matched all five numbers drawn Tuesday, Oct. 8, to win big, the lottery said.

    Carolina Cash 5 is a rolling jackpot game that starts at $1 to play, the lottery’s website says. The jackpot, which starts at $100,000, is won by matching five numbers chosen from 1 to 43 to all five white balls drawn.

    The odds of hitting the jackpot are approximately 1 in 962,568, lottery officials said.
