    Game Balls: Here are the top SW Florida high school football Week 9 performers

    Cape Coral handed Riverdale its first loss of the season, Naples won its annual Coconut Bowl showdown with Lely and North Fort Myers survived a tough district battle at East Lee County.

    Those were just some of the top games from Week 9 of the high school football season.

    To honor the players who stood out, The News-Press and Naples Daily News hand out their Game Balls for the top efforts each week. Here are those players for this week's games.

    Kamarien McKay and Wilken Samedi, Cypress Lake

    The defensive backs each returned interceptions for touchdowns in the Panthers' big district win over Island Coast.

    Maddox Stewart, Estero

    The quarterback passed for 328 yards and five touchdowns in a decisive win over Lemon Bay.

    Kegan Kreuscher, Estero

    The wide receiver was Stewart's favorite target, catching 13 passes for 130 yards and three touchdowns.

    Jayden Boyd, Cape Coral

    The defensive back returned a fumble 65 yards for what proved to be the winning touchdown in the Seahawks' win over Riverdale.

    Shawn Simeon, Naples

    The running back rushed close to 300 yards and four touchdowns in a win over Lely.

    Chris Germinal, Immokalee

    The quarterback passed for 328 yards and rushed for an 83-yard touchdown in a win over Aubrey Rogers.

    Brooke Hankinson, North Fort Myers

    The kicker connected on a 21-yard field goal to give the Red Knights the lead with five minutes left.

    Devon Messenger, Palmetto Ridge

    Messenger had a 66-yard touchdown run and a 70-yard fumble return score in the Bears' shutout win over IMG Blue.
