Pierce County detectives are investigating a shooting that began when a group of people were arguing with another person in the Parkland area Tuesday.

Deputies were dispatched to reports of a shooting at 108th Street South and Croft Street South. Some people in a car were arguing with pedestrian on the street. The group left in the car, drove back and then hit that person intentionally, according to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department on Facebook.

The post said that as the group was driving away, someone on the street shot at the car and hit a woman who was in the passenger seat.

The bullet went in through the car’s trunk, through a seat and hit the woman, the department’s spokesman Sgt. Darren Moss told The News Tribune. The actual shooting took place on 102nd and A Street.

The woman was taken to the hospital and was in stable condition. The post said that the victims were not forthcoming. A person who was not the shooter picked up shell casings from the ground and ran off.

Moss said the pedestrian who was hit by the car rode away from the scene on their bike.

The alleged shooter has not been identified.
