A regional builder has announced the grand opening of home sites at a new Tehaleh community near Bonney Lake, one of two construction projects promoted by the firm in as many months.

Its other project is set to create a small new “acreage estate” community in the Gig Harbor area.

Garrette Custom Homes is one of nine Glacier Pointe homebuilders at Tehaleh and will build 27 homes. The homes will offer layouts ranging between 2,909 to 4,460 square feet, with properties ranging from a third to a half-acre.

The builder is holding a celebration 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 28 for tours of its new model home. The event will include charcuterie cups from Adore Boards along with Garrette’s sales team available to answer questions.

The event will be at 21002 154th St. E. at Glacier Pointe/Tehaleh.

“We are absolutely thrilled to open the model home for this community,” said Matt Lewis, president of Garrette Custom Homes, Puget Sound Division, in Tuesday’s release. “Brookfield Properties did a fantastic job of planning the neighborhood. The views, trails and parks offer so much within the community.”

Neighborhood schools are Ptarmigan Ridge Elementary, Orting Middle School and Orting High School.

The Glacier Pointe homes include covered outdoor living spaces. Interiors feature lofts, bonus rooms and dens large enough to serve as a home office, media room, hobby space, home gym or second family room. Every home is wired EV ready, among other features.

    Prices begin at $1.1 million.

Garrette first announced it was coming to Tehaleh in January , at the time planning for eight homes.

Glacier Pointe development started to take off in 2023, following the purchase of more than 150 parcels by an LLC affiliated with builder Shea Homes Washington from an LLC affiliated with Brookfield Properties.

Builders at Glacier Pointe in addition to Garrette include Shea (Verterra), Azure Northwest, Brookstone, Lennar, Richmond American, MainVue, Tri Pointe Homes and Holt Homes.

Richmond American and Holt Homes in separate transactions earlier this year purchased a total of 91 parcels at Glacier Pointe.

Beyond Tehaleh, Vancouver, Washington-based Garrette in the past few years has announced various home sites across Pierce County , including in the Graham and Spanaway areas. The builder works with local clients at its design studio/office in Tacoma.

Meanwhile, Garrette last month announced sales would begin Sept. 21 for “a new acreage estate community” in Gig Harbor.

That development, Hale Passage Estates, is planned in the area of 2355 72nd Ave. Court. The project will bring four homes on lots ranging from 1 to 4 acres, with prices starting at $1.3 million.

Floor plans for those homes will range from 3,200 to 4,190 square feet.
