TW&L raises rates by 2% in response to TVA rate hike

TUPELO — Tupelo Water & Light customers will pay 2% more for their utilities following an increase approved Tuesday night to help the department cover rising retail power rates.

The Tupelo City Council voted unanimously to approve a 2% raise to both residential and commercial rates during their regular meeting, Aug. 20. This increase results directly from a Tennessee Valley Authority rate increase that will go toward expansive infrastructure upgrades.
