Football! Oak Ridge Wildcats play Jefferson County Friday night

The Oak Ridge High School Wildcats have high hopes for Coach Derek Rang’s second year.

Th Wildcats play a non-conference game against the Jefferson County High School Patriots at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23, at the school, located at 115 W. Dumplin Valley Road in Dandridge.

A stout offensive line led by center Malachi Bonner will protect junior quarterback Blaine Stansberry as he guides the offense. He will hand the ball to sophomore running back Damillyn Porter and junior running back Jermichael Howard in the backfield. Primary targets Will Pressley and Jerell Jemerson, both juniors, and Malik Howard, a sophomore, have the hands and the speed at wide receiver. The Wildats’ defense will rely on a strong line and experienced corners.
