Roane State Community College is joining other Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR) institutions and organizations across Tennessee to collect water for victims of the recent flooding caused by Hurricane Helene.

RSCC students and employees can bring donations to any Roane State campus - including the Oak Ridge campus at 701 Briarcliff Ave. - until further notice. Members of the local community are invited to donate as well. Signage will soon be posted at campuses directing donors where to go. Accepted donations include any kind of drinkable bottled water, which is of critical need right now, according to a college news release.

At the Roane County Campus in Harriman, the water donation drop-off and collection point will be inside the Gymnasium near Room G-200. At the Oak Ridge Campus, water donations can be dropped off at the front desk inside the Coffey/McNally Building.

At all other sites, donors should coordinate with the front desk or follow posted donation signage. Call the college’s main phone line at (865) 354-3000 if you will need assistance with your donation.

The Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR) is coordinating with all its colleges to ensure donations are transported to those in need in upper East Tennessee. If you would prefer to provide a monetary donation, TBR has established a Flood Relief Fund to help with the recovery. The fund is accessible through the Flood Relief Fund tab at the top of TBR.edu or directly at tbr.edu/advancement/tbr-emergency-assistance-fund . Walters State Community College and Northeast State Community College have also established storm relief funds.

Donations of bottled water are also being accepted at any Tennessee College of Applied Technology (TCAT) location.
