    đź“… Today in History: In 1901, Connecticut became the first state to pass a speed limit law, dictating that no motor vehicle could exceed 12 mph in cities or 15 mph outside city limits. Violation of the law could prompt a fine of up to $200 for each offense.

    City council voting on OKC Thunder NBA arena plan Tuesday

    Oklahoma City could see the Thunder playing at a new arena as early as 2028 under terms of a development agreement set for a city council vote on Tuesday.

    The agreement includes two projects not previously discussed; construction of a 650-space garage and the city reserving 1.4 acres for a potential regional transit hub.

    The arena lease, meanwhile, continues to be negotiated with the team’s ownership, PBC Sports and Entertainment. City Manager Craig Freeman said Monday the lease likely won’t be ready for presentation to the city council until September.
