STILLWATER — Coming off a thrilling and exhausting 39-31 victory over Arkansas in double overtime, No. 14 Oklahoma State will hit the road for the first time this season.

    Scouting Tulsa

    • Record: 1-1
    • Best player: Kamdyn Benjamin. The 5-foot-8, 175-pound super-senior has been the Golden Hurricane ’s best source of big plays through two games. A former walk-on from Midlothian, Texas, Benjamin is averaging 17.8 yards per catch and 98.0 yards per game this season, after emerging as a starter in the middle of last year.
    • The case for Tulsa: After a disappointing finish in a 28-24 loss to Arkansas State on Saturday, Tulsa will be out to make a statement. With Kirk Francis behind center, the Tulsa offense has shown good balance, producing 494 rushing yards and 498 passing yards through two games. The Cowboy defense has been susceptible to big plays, and Tulsa will try to exploit that. Defensively, the Golden Hurricane is giving up 3.3 yards per rush, an area where OSU has struggled to get consistent production.
    • The case for OSU: Position for position, the Cowboys should overmatch Tulsa at most spots. That includes the OSU offensive line, which will be motivated to boost the run game production and help Ollie Gordon II get loose for a big day . The OSU defense will be adjusting to life without edge rusher Collin Oliver, who was lost with the season because of a broken bone in his foot. That will give the Pokes a different look, particularly up front.
