Who will be ESPN 'College GameDay' guest picker for OU-Tennessee? Here's our best guess.

ESPN’s “College GameDay” is headed to Norman ahead of the Sooners ’ first-ever SEC game. OU hosts Tennessee at 6:30 p.m. Saturday .

It will be OU’s 41st “College GameDay” appearance, a number that trails only Ohio State (59), Alabama (58) and Florida (41).

The Sooners, who will host the show for the first time since 2020 Bedlam, are 27-13 when being featured on “College GameDay.”

Now for the big question: Who will join Rece Davis, Kirk Herbstreit, Lee Corso, Desmond Howard, Nick Saban and Pat McAfee on set when it comes time for predictions?

Let’s play a game: Guess the Guest Picker.

Mussatto: OU football defense is SEC ready. Just ask Tulane coach Jon Sumrall.

    In alphabetical order …

Brian Bosworth, Sheriff of Fansville: And a Sooner linebacker of some acclaim. The Boz was a guest picker before the 2018 Orange Bowl, which OU lost to Alabama.

Sam Bradford, Heisman winner: OU has a deep well of Heisman winners to pick from, but neither Kyler Murray nor Baker Mayfield is likely to be available. Tough ask to be a guest picker Saturday and quarterback an NFL team Sunday. But what about Bradford? Eh, I don’t see it. Bradford mostly stays out of the public eye.

Mark Daigneault, Thunder coach: Just kidding. Daigneault doesn’t know a thing about college football. Not that that’s a requirement.

Lana Del Rey, singer/songwriter: Noted Sooner fan . Not that any of us know why.

Nathan Followill, Kings of Leon drummer: The Oklahoma City native has done it before, and he’s campaigning for the job once again. “You know who to call, I’ll keep both phones on,” he posted on X. “I have a day off from tour so I look forward to it.”

Patty Gasso, OU softball coach: The most recent guest picker was South Carolina women’s basketball coach Dawn Staley. Why not stick to the theme and go with another legendary coach? Gasso has eight national championships, one more than OU football.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Thunder star: Ha! He might know less about college football than Daigneault. Although he did attend high school in Tennessee.

Gerald McCoy, former OU All-American: The six-time Pro Bowler used to be busy on the weekends. Seems like a great choice.

Olivia Munn, actress: OU class of 2002.

Jim Ross, wrestling announcer: Do we need two professional wrestling announcers on set? That’s McAfee’s turf.

Bob Stoops, former OU coach: From FOX’s “Big Noon Kickoff” to ESPN’s “College Gameday?” Is that even allowed? He’d be opening himself up to uncomfortable questions about Heupel, although the ice has thawed.

Barry Switzer, former OU coach: Please. Just think of the hot mic moments we could get between Switzer and Corso.

Jason White, Heisman winner : White would be a timely choice. He and Tennessee coach Josh Heupel were OU teammates.

Trae Young, former OU hooper: Young, the guest picker the last time GameDay was in Norman, is a regular on the Sooner sidelines.
