By the end of Tuesday's episode of Food Network's "Last Bite Hotel," chef Kevin Lee and his remaining fellow contestants were halfway through the six-episode competition show.

But how did Oklahoma City's chef Kevin Lee make it to the uphill battle of dwindling ingredients that will be the last three episodes of the season?

Read on for my recap of the action.

Lee and his competitors get scrappy in cooking noodles

The show opened once again with chefs receiving items from the eliminated chef from the previous round, this time Aarthi Sampath left each of them just one ingredient. However, the first challenge, which tasked the chefs with preparing a noodle dish for this week's VIP guest, James Beard winner and "Iron Chef" Michael Symon, would also give the winner the remainder of Sampath's trunk.

None of the contestants had noodles in their own trunks, however two — Tobias Dorzon and Byron Gomez — had received flour from eliminated competitors, with Byron's flour having just been gifted to him by Sampath.

Dorzon, classically trained in Italian cooking opted to make a creamy lobster fettuccini from scratch, while Gomez diverged from a traditional Italian pasta shape and made spaetzle with a roasted eggplant and burrata sauce instead.

Having no noodles or flour, Lee and chefs Nini Nguyen and Brittanny Sanderson had to think outside the box.

Sanderson opted to use celery root received from the earlier elimination of Graham Campbell as a noodle in a Caesar salad cold dish, along with the capers bestowed upon her by Sampath.

Nguyen attempted to make rice noodles, but when they failed she pivoted, using garlic chives, received from Sampath, as noodles and pairing them with a curry sauce made with a scrap broth from leftover chicken bones.

Lee chose to make a crudo noodle from previously cured Japanese red snapper served with a Meyer lemon and gochujang vinaigrette (lemons that, you guessed it, were his one item from Sampath).

"It does look like a noodle," Symon said of Lee's dish as he swirled a piece of snapper onto his fork. "Sauce is delightful. I mean, the flavors are great, I'm getting the Meyer lemon. I love this as a noodle, beautiful knife skills, it's really well done. Texture is great. It has some heat to it, but it's not like ripping your face off. Overall, I think a very successful dish."

Who was eliminated in episode 3 of 'Last Bite Hotel?'

Lee survived the cook along with Sanderson and Dorzon, with host Tituss Burgess saying he'd announce the winner of Sampath's trunk later.

Chefs Gomez and Nguyen were put into a sudden death round and asked to use pickled eggs to make their best bite.

Nguyen served a crispy chicken wing tossed in fish sauce caramel and dusted with pickled egg yolk with a pickled egg aioli. Gomez served a pickled egg salad with golden beets on a homemade flatbread cracker.

Ultimately, Symon chose Sanderson as the best noodle dish, making her the winner of Sampath's remaining trunk and Gomez was eliminated based on the sudden death pickled egg challenge, with Symon having said the sweetness in his dish overpowered the eggs.

"Last Bite Hotel" airs at 8 p.m. Tuesdays and is available to stream on Discovery+.
