OKC Thunder signing Alex Reese to standard, non-guaranteed contract, per report

The Oklahoma City Thunder intends to sign former Alabama forward Alex Reese to a standard, non-guaranteed contract, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported Saturday morning . He fills the Thunder’s final roster spot ahead of Saturday’s 5 p.m. deadline to trim rosters to a regular season maximum of 15 players.

In light of Isaiah Hartenstein’s recent hand injury , coupled with the pending statuses of Jaylin Williams and Kenrich Williams, Reese gives OKC another large body at 6-foot-9.

Reese, who played four years at Alabama, spent last season with the Rip City Remix, the Portland Trail Blazers’ G League affiliate. He averaged 10.8 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.1 blocks. Reese spent training camp with the Thunder, appearing in three preseason games for the team.
