Festivals abound Saturday -- plus ABRA invites you to dance, and Tigger bounds into OFT

Fall at the falls
Tumwater Falls Fest , happening Saturday, Sept. 28, celebrates what the falls has brought to the community. Among the highlights of the third annual festival are performances by the Bridge Music Project and Oly Chamber Brass and storytelling by Harvest Moon of the Quinault nation. Also on tap for the water-centered festival are activities for kids, food and craft vendors, and information about salmon, water resources, Tumwater history and more. The free celebration will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Tumwater Falls Park, 110 Deschutes Way SW. The music will continue after the festival at the nearby Tumwater Craft District at 4200 Capitol Blvd. SE, Tumwater.
Hispanic Heritage celebration
Also happening Saturday is Lula Fest , Olympia’s celebration of Hispanic/Latinx cultures. The festival happens from 3 to 9 p.m. at Isthmus Park, 529 Fourth Ave. W., Olympia. The city of Olympia is partnering with Ultimano Comms+ and the Thurston County Chamber of Commerce to host the second annual event, which will be a cultural celebration through live music, vendors, food trucks, custom cars and more. ‘Take a Chance’ on ABRA Cadabra
The ABBA tribute act ABRA Cadabra is bringing its really big show to Olympia on Friday, Sept. 27. The Vancouver, Canada-based band, which has been celebrating the exceptionally poppy music of the palindromically named Swedish quartet for two decades, is known for not only its music but also its period-perfect costumes and eye-catching dance routines. ABRA’s Olympia debut is at 7:30 p.m. Friday at The Washington Center for the Performing Arts, 512 Washington St. SE, Olympia. Tickets are $49-$69 .
Family theater reprises ‘Pooh Corner’
Winnie the Pooh and friends take the stage Friday, Sept. 27, at Olympia Family Theater. The theater is revisiting “ The House at Pooh Corner ,” which it staged in 2014. “Corner” features Pooh ( Isaiah Myers ), Christopher Robin ( Hudson Ray ) and friends meeting the extremely energetic Tigger ( Jerry Romasco ). “The inhabitants of the Hundred Acre Wood have always held a special place in my heart,” said director Alayna Chamberland . “These stories are for everyone.” Performances are at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27, plus Oct. 4 and 11; 3 and 7 p.m. Saturday Sept. 28, plus Oct. 5 and 12; and 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 29, plus Oct. 6 and 13 at the theater, 612 Fourth Ave. E., Olympia. Tickets are available on a sliding scale . Masks are required at Sunday performances.
