Former Ole Miss baseball player Sean Johnson captured his first-career World Long Drive World Championship Sunday afternoon.

Johnson blasted a 411-yard drive in the final to secure the championship belt at Eagles Landing Country Club outside of Atlanta.

Johnson, who now lives in Charlotte, hit the longest drive of the final day of competition at 426 yards and averaged 394 yards per drive during the event.

While at Ole Miss, Johnson played baseball from 2015-2017. He finished his career with the Rebels with a 4-2 record with a 4.80 ERA, 29 strikeouts and 26 walks.

After a shoulder injury, he turned to golf.

Johnson finished as the runner-up at last year’s World Championship and is now ranked No. 2 in the world after Sunday’s win, outlasting Jack Smith in the final by one yard.
