Walker Bay Live moves to Walker Marina this week

Walker Bay Live continued their season last week at Walker City Park near the playground. Returning artist and local favorite Timmy Haus kicked off the night with Johnny Cash, John Denver and other classics that everyone loves, while new and local band, Forge North, continued the show with new, original music.

Both artists presented a nitty-gritty, folksy vibe, with nothing but passion and love for performing. The audience remained present and fully engaged for the entirety of the evening and walked away with nothing but great things to say.

The Walker Rotary Cooking Team kept all attendees happy with their great beverage selection, as well as some fresh fried fish and chip baskets. Their hard work brought in over $6,000 to the rotary’s organization.

Jaimie Lee hosted the “kids” both by creating bead people, completely free of charge. Everyone who participated got to walk away with a little souvenir that will remind them of what a beautiful night on Walker Bay looks like!

Finally, Kristin Holly addressed the audience thanking them for their support and encouraging all of them to share their “Walker Story.” She continued by sharing her own story, recalling her father, Willard Arends, and his first job as the local milk man.

Holly continued by motivating attendees to turn to their neighbor in the crowd and share what brought them to our little town on the bay. Many people followed through and walked away with another person to visit with for future events!

Of course, the evening would not have been possible without our sponsors: American Legion Post 134, Five Wings Arts Council, Leech Lake Tourism Bureau, The Chase, as well as Lake Life Dock & Lift and Walker Home Center. Their support each year is appreciated and keeps this event growing each year!

This week, the event moves over to the Walker Marina with Teddy Arunski and Ventura Highway performing. We look forward to spending yet another beautiful evening with you on beautiful Leech Lake!
