Paws and Claws Pets of the Week
Meet Hobbes, who recently arrived at the shelter with his brother, Calvin. We are still learning about him since we don’t know much about his past. He has lots of energy and loves everyone he meets. Hobbes would benefit from daily walks with his new owners. He loves to jump in your lap and be petted. We think he’s a chihuahua/dachshund mix, but we can’t say for sure. He is about 20 pounds, neutered, microchipped, heart-worm tested and vaccinated. His adoption fee is $300-plus tax. Blaze came to the shelter with a few of his friends. He has been a little shy since arriving but warms up super quick. He loves to be petted and scratched under the chin. Blaze does well with other cats, dogs and kids. He is neutered, microchipped, FeLV/FIV tested and vaccinated. His adoption fee is $75-plus tax. Call (218) 675-7297 for more information on these amazing shelter pets.

Theology in the trenches: ‘Through the Eyes of Suffering’
Did you ever learn something about someone else, and after you did, you were able to understand them just a little more? That’s what happened to me as I listened to a short twelve-minute devotional about the life of Mother Teresa. As I listened, the one reading explained that at the beginning of her ministry, she had a flood of mystical experiences including visions. At the heart of each was a deeper insight into the burning heart of Jesus’ love for souls. In other words,...
