A new world record has been set for the most video game consoles connected to a single TV, with Ibrahim Al-Nasser from Saudi Arabia achieving the remarkable feat of hooking up 444 consoles. This achievement was officially recognized by Guinness World Records on August 14, 2024.

Al-Nasser's setup is a complex arrangement that includes:

    • 30 RCA switchersand 12 HDMI switchers to manage the connections.
    • A diverse collection of consoles ranging from the Magnavox Odyssey, the first-ever gaming console released in 1972, to the PlayStation 5 Slim, which was released in late 2023.
    • The collection features not only mainstream consoles like the Xbox 360 and Nintendo Switch but also rare systems such as the Super A’Can.

To maintain organization, Al-Nasser employs a detailed Excel spreadsheet that helps him track which console is connected to which switcher, allowing him to select any console to play with just a flick of a button. He has also prioritized cable management, ensuring that most of the wires are hidden and the setup remains tidy.

Despite the vast collection, Al-Nasser claims that his favorite console is still the Sega Genesis. He views his setup not just as a gaming station but as an unofficial museum of gaming history, showcasing the evolution of video game consoles over the decades. The meticulous effort he put into this project reflects his passion for gaming and collecting.
