APPLETON - It's October, the height of the fall, and if you haven't picked your pumpkins, whether it be for cooking or decorating, you should move fast.
Pumpkin patches across northeastern Wisconsin are already open, collectively offering hundreds of acres of fresh pumpkins, gourds and squash to be picked by guests.
Alongside outdoor activities like corn mazes, petting zoos and hayrides, it's easy to make picking pumpkins an all-day event.
Many patches are also offering other treats like bakery items, jams, ciders and caramel apples, making it hard to leave with just one thing.

W3964 Wege Road, Appleton
Hofacker's Hillside Orchard opened for apple-picking season in early September and has recently opened its pumpkin patch. The orchard offers both pick-your-own pumpkins as well as pre-picked pumpkins, prices depend on the size. Caramel apples, bakery items, dipping caramel, cider and more treats are available for purchase from the shop. A free corn maze is available anytime during the orchard's hours of operation.
The zipline is unavailable this year due to low staffing.

N181 State 55, Kaukauna
With a large selection of pumpkins, specialty pumpkins, gourds and squash, Peter's Pumpkin Patch is a busy place this time of year . Both pick-your-own and pre-picked pumpkins are available. Alongside pumpkins, customers can purchase ciders, corn stalks, apples, plums, pears and even chicken eggs.

At Star Orchard, guests can choose from a large selection of pumpkins and gourds alongside many varieties of pick-your-own apples. Fresh apple cider, caramel dip, caramel apples, jams, jellies, apple butter and salsas are available for purchase in the shop. Fun activities include a corn maze located next to the pumpkin patch.

Open every day of the week, Spranger's Orchard offers pick-your-own pumpkins, gourds and squash. Customers can also purchase plums, pears, peaches and apples. The orchard offers apple cider and caramel apples.

Open only on the weekends, Misty Ridge Orchard has a host of products and activities for its guests. The pumpkin patch is open and ready for pick-your-own, as well as its apples. Gourds, corn stalks, straw bales and fall flowers are also available. Guests can find entertainment with corn hole and basketball, warm up by the bonfire, visit the donkeys and goats and navigate through the corn maze. At the bakery, guests can purchase fresh cider donuts, apple pies, caramel dip, caramel apples, maple syrup and much more.

Not only does Mulberry Lane Farm have a large selection of pumpkins to be picked, but visitors also have the chance to visit a furry friend at the farm's petting zoo. From now through October, each paid guest receives a free pumpkin of their choice. Before heading to the patch, guests get the opportunity to get up close with cows, chickens, pigs and kittens. A free hayride takes guests to the 13-acre patch. The farm also sells caramel apples, mini donuts, apple cider and more.
