Kurt Benkert makes the cut in final 53-man roster prediction
Packers' seventh-round pick Kylin Hill battles for yardage against the Buffalo Bills.Rich Barnes-USA TODAY Sports. There’s really no such thing as the “final 53-man roster,” unless you count the players the Packers take into their very last game of the season. So let’s not call whatever roster the Packers end up with today the “final” 53. It’s an initial roster, one that will grow and change over the course of the next four or five months.
Josiah Deguara ready to contribute in his second season
Josiah Deguara runs for yardage against the Minnesota VikingsGetty Image Services. Brian Gutekunst loves elite athletes. He’s built much of his NFL Draft philosophy around acquiring them. In his first three drafts, the Packers’ general manager had selected an elite athlete at virtually every position, rounding out his list with a third-round selection that served as a hybrid between multiple key spots in his head coach’s lineup.
Predicting the Packers roster as training camp begins
Jordan Love and Aaron Rodgers drop back for passes in practice.USA TODAY NETWORK - Wisconsin. Predicting the Packers’ final 53-man roster is kind of a paradox: on the one hand, it’s way easier than we’re led to believe. On the other hand, every prediction will almost certainly be undone by unknown factors, like the internal opinion surrounding a player or, perhaps even more likely, an injury.
Josh Jackson faces a tough roster battle in his fourth year

A 5-10 dynamo, Alexander harries his opponents with the intensity of a Jack Russell terrier, dogging receivers and fighting for every ball as though the idea that it belongs to anybody but him is a personal affront. His approach has worked to great effect — Alexander has emerged as the Packers’ top corner and one of the best defenders in the league.
Randall Cobb set to return to the Packers, per reports

Few Packers wide receivers in the 20th century have been involved in more spectacular plays than Randall Cobb. The diminutive second-round pick burst onto the scene in 2011 with a spectacular 108-yard kickoff return in his first game and really never let up after that. He was on the receiving end of Aaron Rodgers’ fourth down bomb in 2013 to beat the Bears, he caught a key pass late in the Packers’ 2014 playoff win over the Cowboys, and he crushed the Bears again in 2018 with a gargantuan catch-and-run to complete the Packers’ comeback.
Packers safety Christian Uphoff could be a roster sleeper

From Tramon Williams and Sam Shields to Lane Taylor to Allen Lazard, players who have been passed over in the draft have frequently gone on to have productive careers with the Packers.
Aaron Rodgers expects to play for Packers this season, per reports
According to a new report, Aaron Rodgers expects to be a member of the Green Bay Packers this season. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport shared the news shortly after Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst finished speaking at the Packers' annual shareholder meeting.
From De'Vondre Campbell to Ray Wilborn, the Green Bay Packers have interesting options at linebacker
Green Bay Packers linebacker Krys Barnes lines up for a snap against the Houston TexansMatt Patterson/Associated Press. For a team that all but refuses to invest at inside linebacker, the Green Bay Packers seem to have a lot of options at the position heading into 2021. Three different players currently on the roster started at least six games last year: De’Vondre Campbell (with Arizona), Krys Barnes and Kamal Martin. Even if none of those prospects are terribly exciting, they should at least have some solid options available this season.
Packers need more from Za'Darius Smith in 2021
Za'Darius Smith rushes the passer as well as anybody, but the Packers need more consistency in 2021.Charles Rex Abrogast/Associated Press. With respect to Adrian Amos, Za’Darius Smith has been by far the best free-agent signing of Brian Gutekunst’s tenure as general manager. Unlike his predecessor, Gutekunst is more than willing to spend in free agency. It hasn’t always worked — Jimmy Graham, Mohammad Wilkerson and Christian Kirksey are proof enough. But he’s unearthed a few gems, too, and Smith is without question the biggest.

Four possible outcomes for Jordan Love in 2021
One way or another, Jordan Love is going to be an integral part of this Packers' seasonEvan Siegle, Green Bay Packers; Dylan Buell, Getty Images. It’s still not clear how the Packers’ ongoing situation with Aaron Rodgers will be resolved, but one clear loser has already emerged: Jordan Love.
Who will the Packers' third-string running back be in 2021?
Behind Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon, the Packers have three mysteries at running back.Aaron Cornia/MSU Athletics, Joe Murphy/Getty Images, Leon Halip/Getty Images. Two things are true about the Packers’ running back depth chart: the top two spots are absolutely locked up, and anything beyond those top two spots is an absolute mystery.
Why inexperience may be a problem for the Packers' offensive line

The Packers may have a problem brewing on offense, and it has nothing to do with a certain disgruntled quarterback. Instead, it’s centered around the heart of the group tasked with protecting him — or whoever happens to line up behind center.

5 storylines worth following from Packers OTAs
Aaron Rodgers is not present at the Packers’ organized team activities, but there’s far more going on that doesn’t concern the reigning MVP’s discontent with his team. Here are five storylines worth following at the Packers’ organized team activities.
Aaron Rodgers makes first public comments on discontent with Packers
To say Aaron Rodgers has a cagey relationship is to understate the situation by several orders of magnitude. His disdain for public comment is well known, and his distrust for reporters is such that he records every conversation he has with a member of the media so that he may correct the record, should it become necessary.
What Aaron Rodgers' Absence From OTAs Means for the Packers
Aaron Rodgers has not reported for the first of the Packers' organized team activities, but there's more at play here than that.Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports. Aaron Rodgers was not among the players present when the Packers opened their first round of organized team activities today. Though the activities are voluntary, the Packers typically have robust attendance throughout their offseason program.
How to Watch Kenny Clark Dominate From Your Couch
Kenny Clark is a great player, but outside of watching for splash plays like sacks, how can we know how he's doing?Brian van der Brug/Los Angeles Times. Watching football at home presents a dilemma. It's easily the most comfortable environment in which to watch a game, but it's sometimes really hard to know what's actually going on. Sure, you can track who's catching passes and scoring touchdowns, but what if you want to really get into the nitty gritty? What if you're trying to figure out what's going on with the offensive and defensive linemen?
