    Aug. 6

    Bodega Bay: Senior Saunter hikes are leisurely walks throughout Sonoma County that are aimed at connecting older adults to the outdoors and one another. This month’s hike will take place at Chanslor Ranch where walkers will enjoy the new horse ranch with views of Bodega Harbor and the ocean. The rocky hike is 1-2 miles along the coastal prairie. Bring snacks and water. Wear layers and sunscreen. 10 a.m.-noon. Free. 2660 N. Highway 1. Parking is $7 or free with a Sonoma County Regional Parks pass.     Aug. 8

    Santa Rosa: Join painter and illustrator Erica Warren on a short walk around Irwin Creek. Participants will partake in some journaling and a painting session with an art medium of their choice. This event is open to all levels of painters and drawers. Attendees will use the natural light and shadows in the nature around them. Bring your favorite medium and supplies.     Aug. 10

    Sonoma: California State Parks will be hosting their Nature and Community Fair along with two dozen nonprofit organizations near the Sonoma Plaza. The event will focus on learning about birds, owls and there will be a petting zoo for kids. 4-7:30 p.m. Free. 20 E. Spain St. For more information, go to sonomaparks.org

    Aug. 11

    Rutherford: Frog’s Leap Winery will be hosting their Farm Day Festival at Rutherford Ranch. This outdoor event will be filled with agricultural activities for all ages. There will be live music, food trucks, vendors, wine tastings, face painting, tie-dye and more. Adult admission includes three Frog’s Leap wine pours. Bring a reusable water bottle. 11 a.m.- 2 p.m. $65 adult admission, $25 for children. 8815 Conn Creek Road. For more information, go to frogsleap.com

    Kenwood: Certified naturalist Judy Withee and other Sugarloaf Ridge State Park docents will be leading a slow walk where attendees will explore an accessible trail and enjoy the nature and wildlife the park has to offer. The walk is about a half mile and is suitable for all levels. There will be plenty of opportunities for socializing, photography, resting and more.
