At least one person died in a three-vehicle crash Friday afternoon in southwest Santa Rosa, according to police.

The 1:40 p.m. crash occurred in front of Cesar Chavez Language Academy. In a 2:11 p.m. alert, Santa Rosa police asked the public to avoid the area of Sebastopol Road and Lombardi Court.

Few details were immediately available but Santa Rosa Police said two vehicles were primarily involved and the drivers of both — the sole occupants — were hospitalized and one later died.

A third vehicle was “collaterally” involved after the primary crash; it bounced off the cars that were initially involved, police said.

The crash was blocking most of the roadway as of 3 p.m., according to Santa Rosa Police Sgt. Patricia Seffens.
