A San Francisco man has been charged in a Santa Rosa motorcycle crash that injured his two children who were riding with him at the time of the Saturday evening incident.

The Sonoma County District Attorney’s Office has charged Munkh Batmagnai, 31, with two counts of child endangerment and one count of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

He appeared before Judge Dana Simonds in Sonoma County Superior Court in Santa Rosa on Tuesday and was assigned an attorney with the public defender’s office.

Court records show he was granted pretrial release and is scheduled to return to court Sept. 10 to continue his arraignment.

The crash occurred about 7:30 p.m. Saturday in a residential area on Applejack Way at Common Way, according to the Santa Rosa Police Department.

Officials said the family had been spending time at a home in the area, but their exact relationship to the location wasn’t immediately available Tuesday.

Batmagnai is accused of failing to provide helmets for his 8-year-old daughter and 5-year-old son who were riding a three-wheeled Harley Davidson with him, officials said.

Both children suffered minor abrasions, as well as road rash, and were taken to an area hospital as a precaution, police said. They were later released to a family member.

Batmagnai was unconscious following the crash and was also taken to a local hospital for treatment. He was arrested after being medically cleared.
