Stand-up comic Marc Price, who’s best known for playing “Skippy” Handelman on the 1980s TV show “Family Ties,” is taking the stage again Saturday in Santa Rosa.

Price, who performed at Barrel Proof Lounge twice in 2023, is back by popular demand, the downtown club said on the event page.

Price, 56, who often performs comedy billed as Marc “Skippy” Price, told The Press Democrat last year that he embraces the recognition he receives for his role on “Family Ties,” which ran from 1982 to 1989 and introduced America to actor Michael J. Fox as a young Republican with ex-hippie parents.

“It’s my opportunity to introduce myself to people,” Price said in June 2023. “That’s why I tend to milk it, rather than run away from it.”

The son of comedian Al Bernie and singer Joy Mann, Price was involved in stand-up and show business before booking the NBC sitcom at age 14.

“It was wonderful to be part of something so great when I was young and skinny,” he told the Press Democrat last year.

As a stand-up comedian, Price said he does “a little bit of everything.“

I get topical, silly, physical, sharp, stupid,” he told The Press Democrat last year. “With stand-up comedy, you can really go anywhere. I think people limit themselves unnecessarily.”

The 21-and-over show at Barrel Proof Lounge starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $15 advance and $20 at the door.
