Slusser Fire contained, delayed traffic on River Road west of Santa Rosa

A small vegetation fire Thursday evening delayed traffic on a stretch of River Road outside Santa Rosa.

The Slusser Fire burned along the road east of Trenton-Healdsburg Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.

It was contained to 1 1/2 acres as of 6 p.m., according to Cal Fire.

Westbound River Road was closed until about 10 p.m. while firefighters put out the fire, the CHP reported.

Flames burned uphill and created smoke that was visible for miles.

There were no reports of injuries or damage.
