Students from South Kingstown and East Providence dominate the nominations for The Providence Journal's Student of the Week and that continues to be the case this week.

Below you will find the nominations for The Providence Journal's Student of the Week initiative and it's time for you to pick the best of the best.

High schools across the state have been asked to submit nominations and a new round of nominees and voting will be made available every Monday and close the following Thursday.

Participating Rhode Island high school principals, teachers and guidance counselors nominated students they say have shown outstanding academic and school achievement and community service.

We will announce a winner Friday on providencejournal.com and in print in the Sunday Providence Journal.

Take a look at this week's nominees and cast your ballot below.

Arielle Fox, East Providence High School

Arielle Fox is an absolute pleasure to have in class. Aligning her efforts, class participation and overall positive attitude to just one element of the EPHS vision of a graduate was challenging, because she truly is an example of all of them – a true example of a well-rounded Townie. Arielle is a thoughtful young lady who strives to do her best every day. She is kind to all members of our class and is willing to take chances academically, always seeking to grow and learn. She asks thoughtful, relevant questions, has a keen sense of humor, and stands up for what is right because honesty and integrity is important to her. She is willing to ask questions and answer her classmates’ questions, leading by example. Actions speak louder than words, and Arielle is an example of a truly outstanding student.

Diana Nobis, South Kingstown High School

The math department has unanimously chosen to nominate Diana Nobis for the Providence Journal's "Student of the Week" award, specifically highlighting her excellence in mathematics.

Diana embodies the traits of a successful mathematician. Her journey over the past few years has been nothing short of inspiring. She has mastered Algebra and Geometry through relentless hard work, embodying a growth mindset by continually practicing and seeking improvement in math as well as in her English language skills. Her ability to study diligently, seek assistance proactively, and embrace constant iteration in speaking, writing, and working across multiple mathematical representations truly sets her apart.
