The Mariners' lone run came in the bottom of the 6th as Vito Paglia drove home Previte on an RBI single after Previte singled and stole 2nd to start off the frame. For Prout, Andrew Nowell threw all 6 innings, surrendered just 1 run, 6 hits, a walk and fanned 5 in the hard-luck loss.

    Prout 8, Moses Brown 7

The Crusaders nearly gave the game away, but Molly Green came to the rescue with a two-run home run in the bottom of the sixth that gave them an 8-7 win over the Quakers.

Prout led 6-5 heading to the sixth when Moses Brown came back. Finley Walsh had the clutch hit, ripping a two-out double that scored Ava Lourenco and Coco Medeiros , giving the Quakers their first lead of the day.

Prout responded in the bottom half. Emma Manzo led the half off with a walk and after a pop-out, Green stepped up in a huge way. The senior blasted a ball to left for a two-run shot that became the winning runs when Lucy Kaiser closed out the seventh to secure the dub.

Green was a beast all game long, going 3-for-3 with three RBI and three runs. Mia Boyajian was 1-for-3 with two RBI in the win and Manzo scored three runs. The win was Prout’s fourth in a row following a four-game losing streak and the Crusaders close the season 12-6, good for third place in Division I-B.

Medeiros was a monster for Moses Brown, going 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. Walsh went 3-for-4 with three RBI and Lourenco and Abigail DeWolfe both scored two runs. The Quakers are 5-12, which qualifies them for the playoffs, and close the regular season Wednesday at Smithfield.

East Greenwich 4, Bay View 0

Ava Fairbanks dominated in the circle and Margaret Neville ’s home run got the offense going as the Avengers took down the Bengals, 4-0.

Fairbanks was near-perfect in her efforts for EG on Tuesday. The senior threw three no-hit innings before giving up a single to Bay View’s Ava Wasylow to open the fourth and didn’t give another until there were two outs in the seventh. Fairbanks had 13 strikeouts in the complete-game two-hitter.

Neville gave Fairbanks all the runs she needed when she led off the second inning with a home run. The Avengers added a second run in the inning on an RBI single by Chloe Hartman. East Greenwich added another run in the third on an error and Olivia DeShazo scored in the fifth on a passed ball.

The Avengers finish the season 11-7 and should be the No. 3 seed out of Division I-A. The loss wrapped up the season for Bay View, which went 3-15 one season after making the state championship game.

    La Salle 9, Pilgrim 1

The defending state champs wrapped up their perfect regular season with a great performance in the circle from Hailey Vigneau and Lily Roumelis paced the offense in a 9-1 win over the Patriots.

Vigneau was her usual self for La Salle, throwing a complete game while giving up five hits and one run while striking out nine.

Roumelis hit two home runs in the game, popping a solo shot in the fourth and a two-run bomb in the fifth. Giuliana Ialongo went deep early, leading off the bottom of the first with a nuke and three batters later, Diana Hall hit a solo homer than made it 2-0 through one.

La Salle closes the season 18-0 and should earn a bye and avoid the single-elimination round of the Division I playoffs. Pilgrim finishes 13-5, earning the No. 2 seed from Division I-B.

    Portsmouth 8, West Warwick 5

The Patriots’ impressive second half continued in their regular-season finale as Barbara Rainey and Kaylyn Aubuchon lead the way in an 8-5 win over the Wizards.

Portsmouth put up runs in bunches in the two innings it scored. In the second, Tatum Brennan got things started with an RBI single, which was followed by an RBI groundout by Aubuchon and a two-run single by Rainey.

Up 4-2 in the sixth, Portsmouth tacked on four more. Mia Ruggieri opened with a solo home run and late in the inning, Aubuchon hit a two-run single. Rainey followed with a double to give the Patriots a comfortable 8-2 lead.

West Warwick made it uncomfortable, getting three in the top of the seventh on a fielder’s choice, a sac fly by Charlotte Horak and an RBI single by Grace Gallo , but Mary Rainey closed things out with a groundout and a K to give Portsmouth its seventh straight win.

The Patriots finish the regular season 10-4 and currently hold the No. 4 seed, but would fall to No. 5 if Scituate beats Toll Gate on Wednesday.

West Warwick also finishes 10-4 and is currently the No. 5 seed, but would drop to No. 6 if Scituate beats Toll Gate.

    Scituate 6, South Kingstown 3

Triples in the first two innings helped the Spartans put up crooked numbers in both as the took down the Rebels, 6-3.

Maura Pendergast hit Scituate’s first big triple, a two-out blast to center that scored Kate Nickerson with the game’s first run. Pendergast later scored on a bases-loaded walk to Haley Nickerson .

In the second, Kate Nickerson hit an RBI single to make it 3-0 and that was followed by a triple from Victoria Geisser , who later scored on a groundout by Pendergast.

South Kingstown tried to rally late, scoring two in the sixth on a triple by Bianca Harding and a single by Abigail O’Connor , but the Spartans added an insurance run in the seventh on an RBI single by Liliana Maggiacomo that scored Katelyn Egan .

Scituate is now 9-4 and can earn the No. 4 seed with a win over Toll Gate on Wednesday. South Kingstown drops to 5-8 with the loss and needs to win at home against Johnston Wednesday to earn a playoff spot.

    Mt. Hope 12, BNS 2

The Huskies closed their regular season with a bang as the bats showed up in a big way in a 12-2 win over the Broncos.

Sydney Crowell also had a great afternoon, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs. Cranston East 5, Pawtucket 1

Nevaeh Fatorma terrorized the Raiders from her spot atop the order and helped the Thunderbolts cap a perfect regular season with a 5-1 win.

Fatorma opened the game with a walk, stole second and scored on an error. She led the third inning off with a walk, stole second, stole third, then scored on a bunt by Mariah Means-Waldorf .

She put an exclamation point on her day – and the win – with an inside-the-park home run in the seventh.

Fatorma went 1-for-2 with the two walks and three runs. Means-Waldorf went 2-for-4 with on RBI and Kiara McGarty and Izzy Sousa scored the other two runs. Sousa was dominant in the circle, striking out 12 and giving up one run on three hits.

Cranston East finishes the regular season 14-0 and will be the No. 1 seed for the Division III playoffs. The loss drops Pawtucket to 9-5 and puts it in a three-way tie with Tiverton and Davies for second place. The three-way pool-play tiebreaker gives Tiverton the No. 2 seed; Pawtucket has the head-to-head tiebreaker over Davies and should be the No. 3 seed.

    Davies 10, Rogers 0

The Patriots threw up a 10 spot in the third, which was more than enough for Lauren Bradshaw to work with in a 10-0 win over the Vikings.

Three walks and an error led to Davies’ first four runs in the third inning. Aalyshah Guzman hit a two-run double that made it 6-0, Sara Chiaverini followed with a two-run double of her own and RBI singles by Kylie Robert and Gabriella Fisher gave the Patriots a 10-0 lead.

It was more than Bradshaw needed. The senior ace had it working, giving up four hits and striking out nine in the five-inning shutout win.

Davies closes the regular season with a 9-5 record, putting it in a three-way tie with Pawtucket and Tiverton. With two wins over Pawtucket and one over Davies, Tiverton earned the No. 2 seed seed via the three-way pool-play tiebreaker. Davies was swept by Pawtucket, so it will drop to the No. 4 seed.

    Mount St. Charles 16, Exeter-West Greenwich 5

Down four runs before they picked up a bat, the Mounties responding by putting on an offensive display in a 16-5 win over the Scarlet Knights.

EWG put up four runs in the top of the first, but it did not faze Mount, which responded with three in the bottom half and then grabbed four more in the second before throwing up seven in the third. Up 14-5 in the bottom of the fourth, Tessa Lombardo ’s RBI groundout brought the mercy rule into play and Carolyn Acker ’s sacrifice fly added an insurance run. Acker threw a 1-2-3 fifth to end the game.

The win gets Mount St. Charles back to .500 at 7-7 for the regular season and the Mounties will be the No. 5 seed for the Division III playoffs.

Exeter-West Greenwich closes the season at 5-9, missing the postseason by a single game.
