We are back in action!

The high school sports newsletter returns after a summer hiatus that was filled with beach trips, lobster rolls and some occasional work.

The Providence Journal has been rolling out preview stories for a few weeks now, which I have plugged below. We’ve covered every fall sport in some fashion this preseason with more football stories to follow ahead of opening night on Sept. 12.

Every non-football sport starts in earnest on Tuesday and I’m sure we will be out in the field to celebrate the beginning of a new season. We’ll also be doing a football pick ‘ems this fall — myself, Eric Rueb, Bill Koch and Bill Corey. Feel free to let us know when we’re wrong this fall, but if we’re right, be prepared to hear it.

The fall season goes by quick as we hold onto the last few weeks of warmth. Crowning moments at Cranston Stadium will be here soon enough. But until then, read up on everything you need to know for the fall season.
