    High School Roundup: Highlights from Wednesday's games and Thursday's schedule

    GIRLS SOCCER

    Division III

    Cranston East 1, Narragansett 0

    Tia Sanzaro scored the lone goal of the game at the 29-minute mark of the first half and goaltender Isabella Dupret made it stand up by making 11 saves as the Thunderbolts blanked the Mariners. Narragansett's Grace Blessing also turned in a solid effort in net as she recorded a dozen saves in the loss.

    Crossover

    Rogers 2, Lincoln School 1

    Fallon Bagley scored twice, once on a penalty kick and the other on a free kick, and Makenzie Martin made 8 saves in net as the D-III Vikings (3-8) edged the D-IV Lynx (6-3-1). Maggie McDonald had the lone goal for Lincoln School.

    FIELD HOCKEY

    Division II I

    Cranston 1, Smithfield 0

    Ashley Budano first-half goal was all the scoring Cranston (8-2) needed in their victory over the Sentinels. Reece Vitale had the assist and goalie Savanna Therox made 12 saves in the win. For Smithfield (5-4), Mia Howard had 8 saves in the loss.

    GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

    Division I

    Cranston West 3, Classical 1

    Brooke Menna recorded 7 kills and 2 blocks and teammate Sophia Zamarieppe had 8 kills, paving the way for the Falcons' 25-19, 25-8, 19-25, 25-13 victory over the Purple. Dorie Chatto had 10 kills, 3 a ces and 2 blocks for Classical in the loss.

    Division II

    Cumberland 3, West Warwick 0

    Darryl Ashilaka registered 10 kills and Sophia Pires and Mia Hamel had 13 and 12 digs each, respectively, as the Clippers, now 6-7, cruised to a 25-7, 25-14, 25-14 sweep. Grace Gallo finished with 16 digs, Ava Gallo had 8 digs and McKenzie Roll added 4 kills for the Wizards, now 0-12.

    Division II

    Middletown 3, Pilgrim 1

    Capitalizing on the solid play of Gianna Piker , who recorded 8 kills and 5 aces, the Islanders went on to upended the Patriots. Pilgrim's Amelia Holmes performed well in the loss with 6 kills and 4 blocks.

    Division III

    Central Falls 3, St. Raphael 2

    Fifteen kills and 3 blocks by Arielly DeAndrade , 4 kills and 3 blocks by Xiomary Santos and 9 kills by Chaelys Acevedo propelled the Warriors (8-1) to a hard-fought 22-25, 25-15, 22-25, 25-19, 15-7 victory over the Saints (6-4).

    Tolman 3, Mount Pleasant 0

    The play of Davina Kodua (2 kills, 17 assists, 4 aces, 6 digs), Mary Adeniyi (8 kills, 3 aces, 1 dig) and Jade Ortega Payano (4 kills, 5 aces, 1 dig) carried the Tigers to their seventh win in nine matches, 25-4, 25-12, 25-17. The Kilties slip to 1-8.

    Tiverton 3, Block Island 1

    Hayleigh Korzeniowski led the Tigers to the victory (25-12, 25-18, 18-25, 25-21) with 14 kills, 2 aces and 14 digs. Olivia Perreira added 7 kills, 5 aces and 2 blocks, and Olivia Rodrigues had 6 aces and 20 digs. For the Hurricanes, Haley Conant amassed 5 kills, 8 aces and 7 digs, Dakota Littlefield had a kill, 5 aces, 12 assists and 2 digs, while Kiley Ryan had 8 kills and 8 digs. Tiverton improves to 6-5 this season while Block Island falls to 5-5.

    Narragansett 3, Rogers 1

    Solid outings by Mackenzie Gallaghe r (6 aces, 4 kills, 6 assists, 13 digs), Ruby Prendergast (9 kills, 7 digs, 2 blocks, 4 aces) and Arianna Hughes (4 kills, 3 blocks) helped the Mariners (8-1) get by the Vikings (2-10). Julia Page recorded 6 aces and 3 kills for Rogers.

    Division IV

    Central 3, Blackstone Valley Prep 0

    Danna Garcia led the way with 13 kills and 3 aces as the Knights (8-2) kept the Pride winless (0-9), 25-9, 25-7, 25-12.

    Hope 3, Toll Gate 0

    Keisy Henriquez led the charge for the Blue Wave (25-23, 25-19, 25-19) with 9 kills, 11 aces and 10 digs and was aided by Landa Weah ’s 6 aces and 19 assists as well as Zariyah Brown ’s 7 kills, 8 aces and 7 digs. The Titans’ Victoria Zisserson contributed 6 kills and 2 blocks while Bella Hathaway had 6 kills and 1 block. Hope improved its first-place record in the division to 10-1. Toll Gate fell to 5-7.
