Danny Amendola recalls 'great memories' as Patriot on 'Dancing with the Stars'

Danny Amendola gave a nod to his time as a wide receiver for the New England Patriots during his Hair Metal Night performance on "Dancing with the Stars" last night.

The two-time Super Bowl champion danced in the show's fourth round of competition Tuesday following Monday's Soul Train Night.

For Tuesday's show, each star performed routines to famous rock songs for Hair Metal Night. Kiss frontman Gene Simmons was a guest judge.

Amendola and his pro partner Witney Carson danced to a hit by rock band Bon Jovi, whose frontman is famously friends with Patriots owner Robert Kraft.

Danny Amendola and his partner Witney Carson danced a paso doble to "Livin' On A Prayer" by Bon Jovi for Hair Metal Night on "Dancing with the Stars" last night.

The song has special meaning to New England fans because of Jon Bon Jovi's friendship with Robert Kraft. Bon Jovi has even led sing-alongs to the song during games at Gillette Stadium.

"We have a lot of great memories playing football to that song," Amendola said. "Most importantly, what music does, what dance does, what sports do, is bring people together."

How did Danny Amendola score on 'DWTS' last night?

Danny Amendola scored a 30/40 for his paso doble on "Dancing with the Stars" last night, earning sevens out of ten from Carrie Ann Inaba, Derek Hough and Bruno Tonioli. Guest judge Gene Simmons gave him a nine out of ten.

Combined with his Soul Train Night scores, Amendola's total for both nights was 60/80. He placed fifth overall among the other stars.

Who got eliminated on 'DWTS' last night?

Last night's episode of "Dancing with the Stars" ended with a double elimination, and actors Reginald VelJohnson and Eric Roberts were sent home.

The elimination was decided by a combination of the judges scores as well as viewer voting from the last two episodes.

There are nine stars left.

"Dancing with the Stars" airs on Tuesday nights live on ABC and Disney+. It is also available for next-day streaming on Hulu.

Who is Danny Amendola?

Danny Amendola is a retired NFL wide receiver who played for 13 seasons, including for the New England Patriots for five. He won two Super Bowls with the team.

He also played for the Miami Dolphins, Detroit Lions and Houston Texans before announcing his retirement in 2022.

Since retiring from the NFL, the 38-year-old was a coaching assistant for the Las Vegas Raiders for one season. He also appeared on the military training show "Special Forces: World's Toughest Test" in 2023.

He is originally from The Woodlands, Texas and graduated from Texas Tech .
