    High School Roundup: Highlights from Wednesday's schedule and Thursday's lineup of games

    FIELD HOCKEY

    Division I

    Moses Brown 4, La Salle 1

    Kat Gauvin scored 2 goals and assisted on another, Paige Moreau netted a goal and an assist and Reese Dewhirst got a single tally as the division-leading Quakers remained undefeated with a victory over the Rams. Ava Porter made 3 saves in the victory for Moses Brown, which is now 10-0-0 in the division and 11-0-1 overall. Charlotte Grace scored on a penalty stroke in the fourth quarter for La Salle, now 3-7-1 overall.

    East Greenwich 2, Barrington 1

    Ava Halvorsen 's goal late in the game proved to be the difference as the Avengers took the lead and held on for the victory. Ellie Picard scored on a penalty stroke, giving EG a first-half lead. Barrington's Emma Mueller tied it in the third quarter on a penalty corner. Halvorsen got the eventual game-winner when she converted a perfect Ellie Picard pass in the fourth quarter. Layla Cameron made 8 saves for the win for EG, now 7-3. The Eagles are 4-5.

    Division II

    Cumberland 4, Chariho 0

    Sasha Senn scored two goals and teammates Molly Enestredt and Abby Hamel each found the back of the net once in the Clippers' win over the Chargers. Cumberland's defense was almost impenetrable as its goalie, Hadley Bausman , had to make only 1 save for the shutout.

    South Kingstown 6, Lincoln School 0

    Dylan Gwiadzinski produced a hat trick and teammates Kate Maness , Abby O'Connor and Cailyn Tamboe netted 1 each as the Rebels blanked the Lynx.

    BOYS SOCCER

    Division I

    North Kingstown 3, Cranston West 0

    The Skippers had a 1-0 lead at halftime and scored 3 more goals after the break. Ryan Kanaczet had a goal for North Kingstown while Johnluca Fenzilli Jr. scored once and had 2 assists, Collin Petrella added a goal and Mason Smerda got an assist. Ethan Ford made 4 saves in goal to preserve the Skippers’ shutout while Jack Payne had 7 saves for the Falcons. North Kingstown improves its record to 9-2-2, while Cranston West falls to 2-7-4.

    GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

    Division I

    North Kingstown 3, Cranston West 0

    The Skippers took control early and never let the Falcons get back in the match, pulling out the 25-13, 25-18, 25-16 sweep. Tessa LaFrenier led the way for NK with 11 kills, 2 aces and 1 block. Lucy Steppen came through with 6 kills and 1 block and Kayleigh Garrepy added 7kills. Sydney Henson ran the show for the Skippers with 31 assists to go with 7 digs and Lucy Steppen had 6 kills. Natalie Brandow had a strong game in defeat, coming up with 6 kills for Cranston West.

    East Providence 3, Prout 1

    Nine kills, 10 digs and 3 aces by Eliza Vest and 8 kills, 6 aces and 7 digs by Vivian Bernhardt sparked the Townies (10-3-0) to a 25-19, 24-26, 25-5, 25-22 triumph over the Crusaders (10-6-0).

    East Greenwich 3, Chariho 1

    The play of Allison Guerzon (17 digs, 3 aces), Addison Fain (10 kills, 6 blocks) and Abigail Guerzon (10 digs, 12 assists) propelled the Avengers (10-3) past the Chargers (5-9), 25-18, 25-15, 17-25, 25-22. For Chariho, Sonja Beasley had 7 kills and 4 blocks and Grace Macleod had 2 aces and 12 digs.

    South Kingstown 3, Classical 0

    Shannon McGarty recorded 13 aces and 5 kills, Gabriella Lawton had 7 aces and Mia Iemma had 5 aces and 12 digs, including the 1,000 of her high school career, as the Rebels defeated the Purple, 25-7, 25-12, 25-19.

    Division II

    North Smithfield 3, West Warwick 1

    Solid performances by Mackenzie Marcoux (6 kills, 2 aces), Sophia Majeau (8 kills, 2 aces) and Samantha Thibeault (5 kills) helped the Northmen to a 25-12, 18-25, 25-20, 25-9 victory, their ninth win in 13 decisions. Aamilah Dagraca (5 blocks, 8 kills), Shanna Correia (5 digs, 3 aces) and Ava Gallo (8 digs, 3 aces) kept it close for the Wizards, now 0-14.

    Barrington 3, Pilgrim 0

    Sparked by the play of Emma McCann (11 kills, 4 aces) and Ruby Ciummo (11 kills), Barrington swept Pilgrim, 25-19, 25-20, 25-12. For the Patriots, Amelia Holmes had 5 blocks and Kayli Sherlock 6 kills in the loss.

    Westerly 3, Bay View 0

    The Bulldogs were led in the 25-15, 26-24, 26-24 sweep by Lyla Auth with 11 kills, 2 aces and 8 assists, Ella Reyes with 7  kills and Lila Wycall with 11 digs. For the Bengals, Avery Gomes amassed 13 kills, Sofia Moreno had 19 digs and Charlotte Didie had 26 assists. Westerly improves its record to 8-5, while Bay View falls to 3-10.

    Mt. Hope 3, Lincoln 2

    In a hard-fought match that went the distance, the Huskies finally prevailed, 17-25, 25-2, 16-25, 25-20, 15-13. Leading the way for Mt. Hope were Abby Allen , with 12 kills and 3 blocks, Sarah Wilcox , with 13 digs and 9 kills and Mia Hanson , with 18 digs. The Lions slip to 9-3 while the Huskies improve to 8-5.
