    High School Roundup: Highlights from Friday's games and Saturday's schedule

    BOYS SOCCER

    Division I

    Portsmouth  6, Central 1

    Aidan Chen scored 2 goals and assisted on another, Oliver Jelley , Rick Babine , Pedro Silva and Aidan Abraham accounted for single scores and Kyle Bielawa had 2 assists as the Patriots improved to 8-2-2 with the victory. Central, whose goal was by Kelvin Villeda on a penalty kick, slips to 3-9-3.

    GIRLS SOCCER

    Division II

    Middletown 3, North Smithfield 0

    Taylor Bridges connected for a pair of goals, Summer Ashness chipped in with a single tally and goalkeeper Sadie Moloney had 8 saves, lifting the Islanders (6-7-1)  to the win.  North Smithfield (2-13-0) keeper Adrianna Carter kept the game close.

    Division III

    Narragansett 6, Johnston/Achievement First 1

    Grace Blessing started at keeper but came out of her goalie position to score two goals, and Hayley DeAngelis , Bella Radom , Cassidy O'Neil and Alexia Porier also tallied, leading the Mariners, now 7-5-2, to the victory. Olivia LaFrate scored Johnston's goal and Danielle Berios collected 15 saves in the loss.  The Panthers fall to 1-14-0.

    GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

    Division I

    North Kingstown 3, Chariho 0

    The play of Kayleigh Gariepy (7 kills, 6 digs) and Lucy Steppen (4 kills, 2 blocks) helped the Skippers to a sweep of the Chargers (25-19, 25-16, 25-20). With the win, the Division I-leading North Kingstown remains undefeated at 14-0. For Chariho, Alexis Korus had 7 kills, 1 ace and 5 digs and Erin O'Leary recorded 5 kills and 5 digs in the loss.

    South Kingstown 3, Westerly 0

    India Vaughn Halene recorded 14 kills, Alex Spinella dished out 28 assists and Mia Iemma amassed 20 digs in the Rebels' victory over the Bulldogs. For Westerly, both Lyla Auth and Abbey Donato turned in solid outings — Auth with 13 kills, 9 assists, 8 digs and 2 aces and Donato with 6 kills, 4 aces, 15 assists and 6 digs.

    Division II

    Barrington 3, Burrillville 0

    Seven aces and 7 digs by Morgan Martins and 4 kills by Lauren Leonard propelled the Eagles — now leading the division with a 12-2 record — to a 25-16, 25-18, 25-17 sweep of the Broncos. Mackenzie Cleary shined for Burrillville, now 7-6, with 6 kills and 5 digs.
