    Emergency response drill to be held at Dennis Maes Judicial Building Aug. 30

    Pueblo County's 10th Judicial District court and probation departments will hold an emergency response exercise with the Pueblo County Sheriff's Office Aug. 30 at the Dennis Maes Judicial Building, 501 Elizabeth St.

    According to a news release from the Colorado Judicial Branch and the PCSO, the exercise is designed to test court staff's response to an emergency situation. It also will test the response capabilities of sheriff’s deputies who work in the building.

    The Pueblo Fire Department and AMR personnel will have a presence at the exercise, according to the release. The drill is scheduled from 11:30 a.m. until approximately 4 p.m. The building will be closed to the public at noon that day.

    The public may see exercise-related activity in and around the Dennis Maes Judicial Building. Responders may be dressed in uniforms, and emergency equipment and vehicles will be on scene, according to the release. The drill will be evaluated by local safety evaluators.

    The Colorado Judicial Branch did not immediately respond to request for additional information.
