CSU-Pueblo ThunderWolves were in the middle of hosting the University of Texas Permian Basin at the ThunderBowl for their home opener on Saturday before a lightning strike caused a delay in the second quarter.

The Pack was leading the Falcons 29-9 before the delay, thanks to two touchdowns from Reggie Retzlaff and one from Howard Russell V. CSU-Pueblo's defense has also contributed to the Packs' success as Keith McKaney nabbed an interception, returning it for a touchdown.

The Falcons got on the board by a touchdown pass for 70 yards followed by a blocked extra point that was returned for two points. That would be all they could muster in the first half.

Play resumed just before 9 p.m.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
