    Pueblo celebrates fall with a ghost walk, art walk, a murderous play and Oktoberfest

    Deadline to register for Tom Sawyer Fishing Derby in Pueblo West

    Cattail Crossing Pond, 251 McCulloch Blvd. | Event is 8:15-11:45 a.m. Oct. 12 | Deadline to register is Oct. 4. | Go online to pueblowestmetro.us or call the Pueblo West Parks office at 719-547-7400. Cost is $5 and the event is open to children ages 4 to 15.

    Ghost Walk in downtown Pueblo

    Fuel and Iron Food Hall, 400 S. Union Ave. | 5-8 p.m. Oct. 4-5 and Oct. 11-12 | Learn about the best of Pueblo's past and tell some of your favorite stories from past Ghost Walks.  Walking tours leave every 15 minutes and include a loop through the Historic Union Avenue and Riverwalk districts before returning to the food hall. Cost is $12.51 and tickets are on sale at ghostwalk-pueblo.com/ . Children 5 and younger accompanied by an adult are free . The event supports the Pueblo Domestic Violence Community Task Force in creating awareness and eradicating domestic violence, intimate partner violence, and domestic abuse in the community through support and education.

    Folk Art Show Kick Off at Pueblo Heritage Museum

    201 W. B St. | 5-8 p.m. | Celebrate First Friday Art Walk with Sandra Ruiz and see her colorful collection of folk art. The exhibit runs through Oct. 25.

    Art Fest at Steel City Art Works

    216 S. Union Ave. | 5-8 p.m. | The gallery is set to host a First Friday opening reception with complimentary refreshments . Meet the artists and see handmade steampunk-style jewelry and art, textiles, quilts, sculptural art and paintings. A “Something’s Happening in the Back Room," exhibit will feature copper foil art, abstract acrylics, mixed media and fused glass pieces.     “Reading Between the Lies” at Impossible Playhouse

    Breakfast, Lunch and Cleanup on the Arkansas River Trail

    Tribute to Women at Rawlings Library

    100 E. Abriendo Ave. | 6-9 p.m. | Mariposa Center for Safety (formerly the YWCA of Pueblo) is hosting the 23rd annual tribute to women and this year’s theme is “Evening on the Red-Carpet" featuring dinner, drinks, a silent auction and awards ceremony . This annual event showcases exceptional women and their contributions to the Pueblo community. Tickets are available for $100 per person online at mariposacenterforsafety.org . Proceeds benefit Mariposa Center for Safety which provided shelter services to 322 adults and 74 children in 2023, as well as 12,683 meals, 5,247 shelter nights, answered 245 crisis calls on the 24-7 domestic violence crisis line and served nearly 200 families for safe visitation and exchanges at Teresa’s Place.
