This scrumptious Candied Apple Pecan Donuts Recipe is one of those delightful creations that can seamlessly transition from a delectable breakfast treat to a mouthwatering dessert. Delighting your taste buds with its enticing blend of candied apples and crunchy pecans, this recipe is the epitome of indulgence.

Whether you are going to enjoy them in the morning with a fresh cup of hot coffee or hot cocoa, or save them as a special dessert after a satisfying meal, these donuts are sure to bring joy and sweetness to every bite.

How to Make Candied Apple Pecan Donuts Recipe

Ingredients for how to make this Candied Apple Pecan Donuts recipe

    • 1.5 cups of flour
    • 1 teaspoon baking soda
    • ½ cup butter or coconut oil
    • 1 egg
    • 1.5 cups of very finely cut apples or homemade apple sauce (I make these with a lumpy homemade apple sauce).
    • dash of salt
    • ½ cup of pecans
    • ½ cup brown sugar
    • 1 tablespoons maple syrup

Directions for how to make this Candied Apple Pecan Donuts Recipe

Rough chop the pecans and add them to a non stick pan with the salt, maple syrup and brown sugar.

Heat to simmer and then reduce a bit over medium heat. Stir regularly and turn off to cool when the liquid is thick and starting to crystalize again.

    Heat oven to 350 degrees.

Using a stand mixer, combine the rest of the ingredients (I do this all at once). Stir until just combined and then add in most of the candied nuts, reserving a little bit for on top of the donuts if desired. Mix again to evenly distribute the nuts.

Spray your donut pan with non stick spray and then fill each well about half full.

The batter will rise so you don’t want to fill them up too much. Make sure the batter goes evenly around the center of the well, just like a circle would or you might end up with more of a C shape.

Bake for 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown and baked through when checked with a toothpick.

Allow to cool almost completely before enjoying (this will help them hold together).
